O’side Turkey Trot sees largest turnout in 7 years

Oceanside loses to Del Norte in first round of CIF Division 1 playoffs

In last year’s CIF playoff contest, the Nighthawks of Del Norte High School defeated the visiting Pirates of Oceanside 26-11. It was almost a different scenario Friday, Nov. 8, on the field of Oceanside High as the favored No. 8 seed Pirates took an early 21-0 lead. Ultimately, though, the final score of 42-35 went in favor of the No. 9 Nighthawks.

Oceanside gets new police chief after retirement announcement

Oceanside Police Chief Kedrick Sadler has retired after nearly two years in the position and more than 20 years with the department, the city announced. Assistant Police Chief Taurino Valdovinos is Sadler’s replacement.
