Lake Loop Trail along the south side of Lake Calavera in Carlsbad has reopened to the public after nearly a month of repair work, the city announced Friday, June 14.
City crews repaired winter storm-related erosion, which resulted in deep grooves in the trail. A second portion of the trail will undergo similar repairs throughout June.
The first portion of work was started May 20, according to the city. The continuing trail repairs occur on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Lake Loop Trail is part of the 6.25-mile Lake Calavera Trails.
Updates can be followed at the city’s trails website.
