Carlsbad CA– The FBI and Carlsbad Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify an unknown white male who robbed the U.S. Bank, located at 7700 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad, California on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. The robber, nicknamed The Hills Bandit, also robbed three banks in the Los Angeles area; one Wells Fargo Bank in on May 16, 2014, and two Citi Banks on July 16, 2014, and July 25, 2014.
On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at approximately 10:30 a.m. a lone white male robbed the U.S. Bank, located at 7700 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad, California. The suspect walked up to the teller and displayed a note that stated he had a gun. No gun was seen. No injuries were reported during this robbery.
The robberies in the Los Angeles area occurred at a Wells Fargo Bank in the city of Laguna Hills on May, 16, 2014, a Citi Bank in the city of Laguna Hills on July 16, 2014, and at another Citi Bank in the city of Lake Forest on July 25, 2014.
The suspect wore a baseball cap with a Raiders logo or a Chargers logo during each of the robberies. He also wore large black rimmed glasses and carried a blue merchant bank bag.
Witnesses describe the robber as follows:
Sex: Male
Race: White
Height: Approximately 5’6’ to 5’8” tall
Age: Between 45-50 years old
Weight: Approximately 190 lbs.
Clothing: Black hat with Raiders logo, or Chargers logo, black rimmed glasses
