Authorities made an arrest this month in a homicide case that went unsolved for more than 15 years, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

DNA evidence led to the arrest of 59-year-old Jeffrey Roberson in Spring Valley, the Police Department stated in a Feb. 20 report. Roberson is accused of killing Cecil Zachary Jr. in 2008.

The Oceanside Police Department stated that Roberson admitted to the killing during an interview with detectives from its Crimes of Violence unit. He was booked into the San Diego Central Jail on murder charges, the department reported.
