The Encinitas Union School District has put a call out to community members within its boundaries to serve on its Measure Z Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.
Applications are due by Feb. 14. The $158.3 million bond was approved by 56.84% of district voters last Nov. 4.
The committee is tasked with:
✔ Informing the public about the district’s use of bond proceeds.
✔ Reviewing expenditure reports to funds are spent solely on Measure Z projects.
✔ Presenting annual written reports to the Board of Trustees.
“The funds from Measure Z will be used to make critical upgrades across all nine elementary school campuses, improving safety, modernizing facilities, and enhancing learning environments,” the district stated in a Jan. 27 news release. “These improvements are designed to foster innovation, provide safe spaces, and ensure that students have the tools and environments necessary to thrive.”

The application must be submitted via the online portal by 2 p.m. on Feb. 14. A committee will review and recommend applications to the Board of Trustees for consideration.
