The Carlsbad Charitable Foundation, a regional affiliate of San Diego Foundation, invites local organizations to submit a letter of intent for projects that that address the health and well-being of children and families.
Proposals can include addressing self-sufficiency, childcare, mental health, food insecurity, healthy lifestyles, housing insecurity and/or domestic violence. The projects should be culturally sensitive, practical and achievable within a 12-month time frame and have prospects for long-term sustainability.
“Our goal with this grant funding is to support local families and children with programs and services that will provide stability and resources to help them thrive in Carlsbad,” said Bret Schanzenbach, board chairman of the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation.
A letter of intent is the first step in a two-step application process, which will facilitate the allocation of funding for Carlsbad-centered projects. The funding range is $10,000 to $25,000. The foundation will evaluate all submittals and qualify those that meet the project and eligibility criteria.
The deadline for submitting the letter of intent is 5 p.m. on Dec. 7. Those organizations invited to submit a full application will be notified in January to submit a completed application by Feb. 7. To apply, visit SDFoundation.org/apply.
Since 2008, the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation has granted more than $1.4 million to over 55 programs so that families today, as well as the next generation of Carlsbad residents, have a place they are proud to call home.
