Train service north from Oceanside is set to resume Monday, July 17, after a temporary barrier was installed to mitigate a bluff slide in San Clemente, Amtrak and Metrolink announced.
The barrier is designed to protect the tracks and trains from debris falling from a landslide at the historic Casa Romantica, which is above the route.
For Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner, trains operating to and from San Diego will no longer require a bus connection between Irvine and Oceanside as of Monday, the rail service announced July 11. Amtrak will resume 10 daily round trips between Los Angeles and San Diego.
Also on Monday, Metrolink will resume its regular schedule to and from the Oceanside Station on the Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines, according to a July 11 update.
Further updates are available at the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Metrolink service alert pages.
