The National Factory Night View Summit nominated Fuji’s local railway, Gakutetsu, as one of the Japan Nightscape Heritage Landmarks. The railway has attracted many to the city as a filming location with a view of Mt. Fuji and nightscape views from the train.
The single-track railway, located on the east side of Fuji city has only 5.7 miles track and 10 stations. Tourists are drawn to the railway with its old-fashioned train stations, traditional locomotive train, which runs at 30 miles per hour, providing wonderful views of the city.
