San Marcos CA– On Friday September 12, 2014, the North County Law Enforcement Alliance (NCLEA) conducted a probation compliance operation in the city of San Marcos. NCLEA is an alliance between various law enforcement agencies in northern San Diego County which targets gangs, gang members, and gang crimes. Participating agencies in NCLEA are the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Escondido Police Department, Oceanside Police Department, Carlsbad Police Department, and the San Diego County Probation Department.
NCLEA was established in early 2014 to combat the rising gang related crimes that transcended jurisdiction boundaries and traditional gang turf areas in northern San Diego County. NCLEA conducts gang suppression operations in each of the member cities and offers resources to assist each city with gang related issues.
Friday’s successful operation in San Marcos resulted in the following statistics:
- Felony Arrests – 11
- Misdemeanor Arrests – 7
Narcotics seized
- 418 grams of methamphetamine
- Small amount of heroin
- Small amount of marijuana
Weapons seized
- .22 caliber semi-auto handgun with obliterated serial numbers
