Oceanside, San Diego’s North Shore (www.visitoceanside.org), is making waves in 2014 with city-wide development and improvement projects aimed at increasing its appeal as a premier Southern California beach getaway. Following years of planning, the new face of Oceanside includes a beautified downtown and welcoming “gateway” to the beach through the Mission Avenue Improvement Project. The recently completed project features a new pedestrian-friendly design that includes a tree-lined, one-way street, widened sidewalks with cafes and an overall beautiful ambiance. The project aims to entice visitors to sit, stroll and explore the many local eateries and shops in downtown Oceanside while en route to the beach.
