Oceanside CA– On Saturday morning, July 26, 2014 deputies and officers from several North County San Diego agencies cooperated with one another while conducting a Regional Realignment Response Group (R3G) operation in the City of Oceanside. The agencies represented were the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the San Diego County Probation Department, the Carlsbad Police Department, the Escondido Police Department, and the Oceanside Police Department.
The operation is part of the State of California’s response to the early releases of prisoners from state prison and county jail under AB 109. Persons under the conditions of AB 109 are subject to fourth waiver conditions and are under the supervision of the County Probation Department.
The program, California AB 109, shifts the responsibility for incarcerating many low-risk inmates from the state to counties. Over thirty officers and deputies from these agencies participated in an AB-109 compliance sweep.  A total of forty-eight individuals were scheduled for compliance checks.  Of those, twenty-three were contacted and checked for violations of their probation conditions.  An additional twenty-three locations were searched for potential violations.  A total of 6 subjects were arrested: two for probation revocation, two for flash incarceration, one for possession of heroin, and one gang affiliate for an outstanding Juvenile Detention Order.
