Del Mar CA–  The winner of the 5th Annual Flower Festival Floral Design Competition was announced on Sunday, June 15, at the San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons/Sav-on. Karyn Wloczewski, owner of Blooming Grace Wedding.com, secured a spot in the California State Floral Association’s Top Ten Competition slated to take place October, 2014 in Carpinteria, California. Second and third place winners went to Karen Spiess of Karen’s Floral Artistry, and Junko Yamamoto, of Junko Yamamoto Art School, respectively. The Fair Flower Show staff provided the theme and materials for the two round competition: Designer’s Choice and Surprise Package.
The annual Flower Festival allows floral design amateurs and professionals to compete each summer for top honors in a fun-filled day of creative displays and exceptional and imaginative floral arrangements. Other Fair Flower Festival highlights included a special floral design novice class honoring our United States military wounded warriors and veterans.
Entry information for the 6th Annual Floral Design Competition in 2015 will be available on the San Diego County Fair website early next spring.
