Vista CA– San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man wanted for sexually assaulting a woman in a Vista home.
The woman was sexually assaulted yesterday, April 29th between 2:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., at a home in the vicinity of Rancho Buena Vista High School.
The victim was taking a nap when she awoke to find a man in her bedroom, who then sexually assaulted her. The man left following the attack.
After not hearing any movement inside her home, the victim called 911. Deputies arrived on scene and Sheriff’s ASTREA also responded to help with the search for the suspect, but did not find him. It is not clear at this time how the man was able to enter the victim’s home and the victim was not able to provide a detailed description of the suspect.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Sexual Assault Unit will be handling the investigation. The Vista Sheriff’s Station will be conducting extra patrols in the area of Rancho Buena Vista High School and the Shadowridge area. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the neighborhood is asked to notify the Sheriff’s Department or call the Crime Stoppers hotline.
