Oceanside CA- Units from Oceanside Fire and Camp Pendleton Fire responded to a brush fire, West of Fireside Street and East of the Drive-In Theatre, just after 3:00 this afternoon ( Tuesday). Firefighters quickly protected the homes on Fireside from the eastward traveling flames. Fireside Street was briefly closed from Mission Ave to Heritage Street. The fire that burned several acres in tinder dry brush, was in the mop-up stages by 3:40 pm. Winds and the fire danger should decrease over the next couple of days with the possibility of rain in the forecast for tomorrow.
