Oceanside CA— Late this afternoon, February 18, 2022, just after 5:00pm, the Oceanside Police and Fire Departments responded to calls of a roll-over vehicle collision in the area of College Blvd and Avenida Empresa.

The collision occurred when a 2008 Toyota Scion XB traveling northbound on College Blvd, drifted from the lane and struck a concrete retaining wall and fire hydrant.  The vehicle rolled over and came to a rest in the northbound lanes.  The driver of the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
Northbound College Blvd was closed for several hours during the initial investigation being done by the Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
The investigation is ongoing and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the collision.
