Oceanside CA— On Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 9:52pm, Oceanside Fire Department units responded to a reported fan in a bathroom on fire in the 1400 block of Temple Heights Drive. Eight minutes after the initial alarm, the first engine arrived and found a two-story house with homeowners safely outside, directing the firefighters to the second-floor bathroom.
Upon entry, fire crews found significant fire involvement in the first-floor and second-floor bathrooms. Crews extended lines and extinguished the fires in the bathrooms. The floor and walls extending towards the roof had considerable fire extension.
Crews performed salvage of owner’s property and overhaul opening walls, void spaces, and ceiling to extinguish the fire and stop its extension. Approximately 40 minutes in, the salvage and overhaul were complete. Crews assisted the owners in retrieving personal items and ensuring a safe place to stay.
The fire investigator arrived, and the cause remains under investigation.
No crews or owners were injured. Mutual Aid provided by Vista Fire Department.
