Fallbrook CA— On Thursday September 16, 2021, around 7:00 A.M., deputies from the Fallbrook Crime Suppression Team (CST) with the assistance of detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff Department’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) and deputies from the Special Enforcement Detail (SED) served a search warrant on a property located in the 30000 block of North River Road in Bonsall.
The warrant is part of an active investigation of an illegal marijuana grow in Bonsall. During the execution of the search warrant, a Butane Honey Oil (BHO) lab was discovered on the property. BHO labs have some specific safety concerns due to the unique dangers they create. Also discovered on the property were numerous hazardous materials. It is not uncommon for investigators to find hazardous materials associated with BHO labs. These hazardous materials may enter the local ground water supply and streams, creating extreme environmental hazards. Due to hazardous materials being located on the property, the San Diego County’s Hazmat Team responded to the property and seized several hazardous materials.
Detectives seized the following during the search:
- Three firearms (one of them reported as being stolen)
- 550 pounds of processed marijuana
- 11 pounds of concentrated cannabis
- 17 pounds of THC infused edibles
- 1.5 pounds of psilocybin
- 234 Fentanyl pills
- 40 ecstasy pills
- $7128 US currency
The search warrant addressed community concerns about illegal marijuana operations near residential areas. We want to assure those we serve know the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is listening to the community and recognizes the negative impact illegal marijuana grows have on our neighborhoods.
Two people contacted at the residence during the search warrant were arrested on felony charges related to the investigation and booked into county jail.
