A Virtual Fundraiser to Support Women who are Addicted to Drugs and Alcohol
San Diego CA— The Crossroads Foundation, San Diego’s first non-profit organization offering a residential recovery program for women who are addicted to alcohol and drugs will celebrate its 34th annual fundraiser, ‘Just Jazz 2021,’ virtually on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. on YouTube and registration is free at https://bit.ly/3hf9RAk
Crossroads opened their doors to addicted women in a quiet neighborhood in Hillcrest in 1957.
“This is an especially challenging time for women with addiction issues since an important part of recovery is social support,” said Vickie Brady, Executive Director of Crossroads. “We know that the effects of COVID-19 have seen renewed opioid concerns in San Diego, and we are tirelessly working to address those needs.”
Pasta and Jazz (now ‘Just Jazz’ because of COVID-19) has successfully been Crossroads premiere annual fundraiser for almost 35 years. Once again it will be a lively event with jazz music, testimonials from alumni, staff, and donors. A silent auction will be presented online for three days prior to the event and a live auction will take place the day of the event. Items included in the auction feature a week-stay in a Princeville Kauai Condo and a week stay in a 5- Star Resort in a city of your choice on the Mexican Riviera. Many dinner and theater packages as well as a round of golf for four at Loma Santa Fe Golf Resort are also up for auction. Crossroads will also feature their successful ‘Fund in Need’, which is a chance to donate to a particular item. This year our fundraising goal is $40,000. Every dollar goes directly to supporting the women in Crossroad’s care.
Most public health officials agree that dependence on alcohol and drugs is a serious national public health problem affecting millions of women. Women who are dependent on alcohol or drugs fight a downward spiraling struggle against loneliness, rejection, self-loathing, and discouragement.
“Our fundraising efforts make up 25 percent of our annual operating budget,” said Annemarie Sundquist, Event Chair and President of Crossroads Foundation
“COVID-19 has negatively impacted our ability to fundraise, and ‘Just Jazz’ is our chance to make up for the losses of the past year. Your donations are essential in maintaining the high level of care we provide women seeking treatment from the disease of addiction. Please join us for this life saving event.”
