But there is much more to what Wounded Warrior Homes does for the veteran community. Animeals for veteran service dogs is one important program, our food pantry, open to the veterans in our transitional housing program, active duty in the area and any veteran in North County, is another one. In the last year we have been able to help hundreds of veterans and active duty military and their families with high quality fresh, frozen and canned foods.”
Entrance to the pantry is by appointment only and social distancing is maintained. Face coverings are also mandatory per the direction of the County of San Diego. Wounded Warrior Homes is getting food donations from a variety of organizations, such as US Foods, Feeding San Diego, the North County Food Bank, and Copia.
