Oceanside CA—On Sunday January 3, 2021, at 6:37 pm, the Oceanside Police Department responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 2200 block of Oceanside Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male with a serious head injury lying in the westbound lanes of Oceanside Blvd. The 62-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on statements and physical evidence at the scene, the pedestrian was already lying in the number 2 lane of Oceanside Blvd for an unknown reason when he was ran over by a vehicle. At this time investigation is ongoing as to which vehicle was involved in the collision. Several vehicles stopped at the scene. No arrests have been made for the collision. It is unknown if the pedestrian was under the influence of any substance at this time.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending family notification.
