Oceanside CA— On December 24, 2020 at 6 pm, people living in South Oceanside(South O) will be stepping out of their homes to make noise. They will make noise for two minutes by ringing bells or using other noise makers in support of being “United in hope, friendship and the promise of a bright future.”
“We’ve all felt the pain of COVID, job loss, and hard times on families in South O,” said Shari Mackin, South O resident and former Oceanside City Councilmember. “Super effort and thus far, more and more volunteers have stepped up to help. Thousands of postcards have been dropped and more are going out this weekend.”
Mackin said the project has been a huge effort all done by volunteers. “We’ve got several Girl Scouts, families, friends, and the South O Moms – a loose knit group of women who have known one another for over 30 years who continue to work to serve the community, our schools, and South O business to keep South O that special we call home. Gotta love South O “
