Oceanside CA— In the spirit of the holiday season, Oceanside held the fifth annual ‘Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest as part of Shop Local Oceanside, a new shopping program funded by Oceanside Economic Development to support our Downtown small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 11 businesses in Downtown Oceanside participated by decorating their shop windows and storefronts to the theme of ‘Tis the Season. A panel of local judges viewed the holiday displays and have selected the following winners:
First place: Coastal Music Studios
Coastal Music Studios is the ‘Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest winner. “Sheet Music Magic! I could practically hear the festive music ringing out when viewing this amazing window!” said Judge CJ DiMento, Oceanside Public Library division manager and staff liaison to the Oceanside Arts Commission.
Second place: Blooms Design House
New to Downtown Oceanside, Blooms Design House took second. Judge CJ DiMento said, “A floral wonderland! This lovely display transports you to a magical winter garden and evokes the joy of an outdoor holiday! We are so fortunate to have this new design business in Artist Alley.”
Third place: Funk N Good Pizza
Funk N Good Pizza took third this year. “No pizza after midnight! Oh no, the Gremlins have found the amazing pizza at downtown’s new Funk N Good Pizza! Makes me want to go try out a slice,” said Judge CJ Dimento. MainStreet Oceanside Program Manager, Gumaro Escarcega said, “The movie throwback brings a fun aspect to the contest.”
Thank you to all ‘Tis the Season to Shop Local participating locations who decorated their storefronts this year and competed for a total of $475 in cash prizes.
