San Diego CA— Foundation for Women Warriors today announced that they are strengthening their impact to the women veteran community by providing cost-reducing critical items in addition to their emergency financial assistance. The nonprofit organization has acquired a warehouse in North County to collect and distribute diapers, baby wipes, formula, car seats, cribs, school supplies, and other essential household goods. Foundation for Women Warriors is the only organization in California solely dedicated to serving women veterans and their families.
As the long-term effects of COVID-19 furloughs, school closures, and layoffs continue to unfold, many veterans are still struggling to make ends meet. Veteran mothers currently balancing careers and/or their own educational pursuits with homeschooling their children report the pandemic has been devastating to both their mental health and finances.
Jodie Grenier, CEO of Foundation for Women Warriors, shares, “It is only through the support of our loyal friends, community foundations, partners, volunteers and donors, that we have been able to quickly respond to the needs of our community and strategically pivot where necessary.”
Foundation for Women Warriors is looking for support from the community through the following:
