Oceanside CA— Just after 10:00am this morning, May 10, 2020, fire units from Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista and Camp Pendleton responded to a reported structure fire at 1749 Kraft Street.
Prior to arrival of fire units, there were initial concerns that there might be residents inside and these concerns were relayed to units upon arrival. Initially, this was believed to be an apartment complex, but at 10:11am Oceanside RA211 reported heavy smoke and flames were coming from a single-family residence. At 10:12 Oceanside E213 pulled attack lines for primary search and fire control and advanced the lines through the front of the structure.
The initial reports from E213 were that the fire had already worked its way to the back of the structure and they were working toward knockdown of the fire. With assistance from other units, the fire was considered under control by 10:25am.
Fire units were able to contain the fire to the building of origin with no spread to any of the surrounding structures.
No firefighters or residents were injured during this incident and initial concerns for endangered residents were proven unfounded.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation by an Oceanside Fire Department Duty Investigator.
