San Diego CA— San Francisco Bay Area-based healthcare platform Elemeno Health has partnered with Mission Edge, a San Diego-based social enterprise consultant and outsourcing firm, to raise tax-deductible charitable funding under a 501c3 status to underwrite the development and distribution of COVID-19 specific micro-learning tools to help democratize access to best practices and safety protocols, and offer this as a free service to emergency departments around the country.
Led by Dr. Arup Roy-Burman, former pediatric ICU Medical Director at UCSF, Elemeno Health provides crucial medical content to front line workers like nurses, doctors and professionals in hospitals and senior care facilities. As this COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve, healthcare workers are dealing with constantly changing guidelines on processes related to screening, testing, treating, and containing the spread. In Elemeno, managers can integrate local workflows with shared practices and deliver to these professionals’ fingertips, allowing healthcare workers to better mitigate the spread of the virus and most importantly, maintain their capacity to handle the surge and keep themselves safe.
“Most healthcare facilities do not have the bandwidth to continually review and curate COVID-19 best practices,” said Dr. Roy-Burman. “We facilitate sharing of practices from a community of leading national organizations to resource-constrained facilities, enabling higher quality care for our most vulnerable populations.
“We are proud to partner with both Mission Edge and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) to deliver the initial deployment of a free, best practices sharing app to help ERs manage COVID-19,” continued Dr. Roy-Burman. “This first application is being field tested in live emergency department settings and is planned to be generally available in May.”
In order to collect charitable donations that are tax-deductible and to better facilitate the distribution of funding to support Elemeno’s free service to hospitals and clinics, Elemeno has partnered with Mission Edge as a fiscally sponsored project. As a leader in social enterprise development and a strong supporter of mission-driven organizations, Mission Edge has adapted many of its service offerings to fit the needs of organizations that are making a difference during this crisis and need support in a timely manner.
On the partnership with Elemeno Health, Mission Edge CEO, Ken Davenport states “We are thrilled to be able to work with cutting-edge innovators like Elemeno Health to drive philanthropic funding toward key public health needs. Emergency Departments are at the front-lines of the COVID-19 emergency and need the kind of technology Elemeno provides.”
