Oceanside CA— On Friday, April 10, 2020, at about 8:00am, Oceanside Police Department responded to 523 Garfield Street regarding a fight in the front yard of this location. When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as 45-year-old Chad Danielson, bleeding from stab wounds. Neighbors who witnessed the suspect fleeing described the suspect as a large Hispanic male adult with long dark hair.
On Thursday, April 16, 2020, the Oceanside Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit received word, from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Crime Lab, of an evidentiary match on evidence collected. That evidence came back to Jennifer Ramos (7/8/97). Although a female, Ramos’ appearance resembles that of the suspect description provided by witnesses.
Detectives contacted Ramos at her place of residence where she was taken into custody. Further investigation confirmed Ramos was the sole suspect involved in this murder and was unknown to Danielson.
Before the incident, Danielson had last been seen by his family, leaving his residence to walk the family’s dog. Upon his return home, a short time later, he was attacked in his yard by the suspect.
The case investigation is continuing by the Oceanside Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit.
