Oceanside CA— Students from TERI Inc’s two non-public schools, the Learning Academy and the Country School hit the waves on Friday, May 31, 2019. Surfin Fire Surf School teamed with Teri Inc. for the twelfth year, to give the students a chance to experience the thrill of catching a wave.
“Thirty-six students are taking part in the event this year out of the forty who signed up,” said Elizabeth Stoker, Administrative Assistant at TERI Inc. “The cloudy weather and drizzle may have frighted off a few this year but we really appreciate everything JP and the Surfin Fire Surf School does with the kids. We also appreciate Jersey Mike’s for providing the sandwiches to us free of cost. ”
“We started doing this about 12 years ago, I think,” said Surfin Fire, owner Jon Peterson (JP). We use to be located right behind Teri Inc. and we thought it would be a great way to get involved with them. We put it together and have been doing it every year since.” Surfin Fire does about 10 events a year for children with Autism and special needs.
