San Marcos CA— To educate businesses and the public in understanding recent court decisions and pending regulatory updates, ALTA Environmental will co-sponsor a free workshop to discuss stormwater and water quality adaptive management drivers. Vice President of Water Resources at ALTA Environmental, Dave Renfrew, will be a panelist at the workshop that will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at San Marcos City Hall Complex – Community Services Main Hall located at 3 Civic Center Drive, San Marcos, CA 92069.
Topics discussed during the three-hour workshop will include pending stormwater regulatory updates related to agricultural, construction, industrial and MS4 permits, TMDLs and bacteria policy in addition to the implications to existing regulations, permittees, property and business owners.
Additionally, there will be a discussion on recent key stormwater court decisions and the designation of new stormwater sources for regulation, indirect discharges for WOTUS, landlord liability for stormwater discharges of industrial tenants, Department of Justice review of CWA citizen suit settlements and consent judgements, standing of citizen suit plaintiffs and other cases. There will also be a discussion of legal cases such as City of Gardena et al v. LA RWQCB and NRDC v. SWRCB and a look at pending or proposed regulations related to environmental degradation associated with the transient population (SDRWQCB).
