Oceanside CA— Just before 1:30pm, Sunday May, 5, 2019, Oceanside Fire Department units were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Bahia Lane, in Oceanside. Oceanside Engine 217 arrived on scene five minutes after the initial dispatch and found a mobile home fully involved with fire. Crews extended hose lines and conducted a search of the residence.
The fire was brought under control approximately 20 minutes after the first engine arrived on scene. Hose lines were positioned to protect the neighboring homes and reduce the spread of fire within the involved structure.
The involved mobile home suffered significant damage displacing the resident. Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced resident with shelter.
There were no injuries to the resident or firefighters. A cat was saved by the resident with no apparent injuries to the animal.
The Oceanside Fire Marshall remained on scene to conduct the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
