Vista CA— On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) toured the Vista Community Clinic a health care provider for low-income individuals, where he discussed his work to expand access to affordable health care and bring down the cost of prescription drugs.
“Californians and Americans across the country are struggling to afford their health care, and now they must contend with the Administration’s efforts to rip away all of the current health care protections, including protections for people with pre-existing conditions,” said Representative Levin. “Facilities like the Vista Community Clinic provide a critical source of care for low-income and uninsured families, and I am grateful for their work.”
Representative Levin cosponsored legislation earlier this month to reverse the Trump Administration’s health care sabotage and strengthen the Affordable Care Act. The Protecting Pre-Existing Conditions and Making Health Care More Affordable Act of 2019 would lower health insurance premiums with expanded affordability assistance, strengthen consumer protections, and stop insurance from selling junk health insurance plans.
