Oceanside CA— Looking for a fun, local way to treat the mama in your life on Mother’s Day weekend? MainStreet Oceanside is planning Downtown Oceanside’s first Mother’s Day Is Sweet, a new tasting and shopping event from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Part of MainStreet’s Eat & Shop Local Oceanside Program, Mother’s Day Is Sweet will give participants the opportunity to experience the sweeter side of Oceanside with dessert and beverage pairings at Sweet Stops throughout downtown while shopping for Mom and making her day.
For $20 per adult and $10 per child, Mom and the whole family will receive local dessert tastes, including gluten-free and vegan offerings, plus 1- to 3-ounce sips of local craft beer and wine for the adults and nonalcoholic beverages. Featuring a walkable format similar to Taste of Oceanside, Mother’s Day Is Sweet combines tastings and sips at Downtown Oceanside shops and restaurants with unique local in-store, pop-up tasting and shopping opportunities. For example, local favorites Dani Girl Cake Pops and DoughSide Donuts are participating this year.
Families can save by purchasing a Family Package of two adult and two children’s tickets, a $60 value, for $45. The event will include a sidewalk chalk activity for kids.
Rachel Moreno, experience creator at Petite Madeline Bakery by the Beach, is excited to participate in this unique event featuring restaurants that serve desserts, “allowing us to highlight what we’re known for, pastries,” Moreno said.
“MainStreet Oceanside is proud to showcase our sweet side of Oceanside,” said Azalea Perez, owner of Flowers by Azalea and MainStreet Oceanside Board of Directors and Promotion Committee member. “We want to let our locals and visitors know that we have more than savory eats — we also have amazing businesses offering sweet creations for everyone to enjoy.”
Tickets are on sale now at mainstreetoceanside.com.
