Community invited to the ultimate foodie experience for a good cause
San Diego CA— The Junior League of San Diego (JLSD) is holding its 19th annual Food and Wine Festival on May 11 – the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year. Attendees interested in supporting JLSD in its 90th year are invited to the afternoon event equipped with some of San Diego’s finest vendors while taking in breathtaking views of the La Jolla Cove.
Beginning in the early afternoon, guests dress in their weekend best will gather at Ellen Scripps Browning Park for live music, silent auctions and unlimited tastings from San Diego’s finest restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries. All funds raised at this year’s event goes to JLSD’s mission-based projects and supports its commitment to training women to be community leaders.
“Our Food and Wine festival is our signature fundraiser supporting our award-winning community projects,” said Joni Flaherty, president of Junior League of San Diego. “The event is the perfect way to kick off summer, dress up and indulge in some of San Diego’s best food and drink for a great cause.”
For 90 years, the Junior League of San Diego has had a lasting and positive impact on the community of San Diego. The organization’s advocacy efforts have successfully improved the well-being of women, children and families in San Diego County. JLSD has founded several remarkable programs including the Polinsky Center, Voices for Children and LEAD San Diego. Its nearly 1,200 members have dedicated tens of thousands of volunteer hours each year and been pillars of strength and charity in their homes, workplaces, neighborhoods and broader communities.
This year’s Food and Wine Festival in La Jolla begins at 1 p.m. for VIP members and 2 p.m. for general admission. The event ends at 5 p.m. with an afterparty at La Valencia from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event and afterparty is open to the public and general admission and VIP tickets can be purchased here.
