San Diego CA— Epicurean adventurers can go on a culinary voyage around the world without ever leaving SeaWorld, as the marine park’s Seven Seas Craft Beer & Food Festival gets ready to set sail! With more than 55 food items (including 33 that are brand new this year), an all-new Flavors of India realm, 127 beer options, several wine varietals and live entertainment on three stages, San Diego’s premier food festival launches March 9 and sails on for eight weekends through April 28. And all that one needs for this gastronomic trip are admission to SeaWorld and a Seven Seas Passport!
Seven Seas has something for everyone, including fans who come back year after year for the most popular Grilled Lamb Slider. For those seeking something new, there’s plenty this year, including the park’s Executive Chef Dave McHugh, who joined the SeaWorld family last summer. McHugh’s goal was to honor a lot of the Seven Seas favorites, but also put his own culinary spin on the event. “Come back and enjoy that delicious Lamb Slider, but also try some of the 33 brand-new items this year, like the Pretzel Melt Reuben or Potato Samosas, with those bread elements coming right out of the hearth of our own bakery. We also are whipping up fresh roulades and authentic, hand-crafted pastry crème Napoleons. From savory to sweet, we want everyone to come out and share food and fun with friends and family.”
With San Diego’s “Capital of Craft” title, Seven Seas wouldn’t be complete without a star-studded lineup of local brews. Each weekend during Seven Seas, three different San Diego craft breweries will be featured, with opportunities for guests to meet the brewers. Locals Eppig Brewing, Green Flash Brewing Co. and Mike Hess Brewing are among those on tap to participate, plus, hailing from Oregon and new to Seven Seas this year, is Braveheart Brewing. Owned and operated by military veterans, Braveheart will serve up several of their “Brewed for the Brave” choices, including Semper Fi American Wheat and Frogman Imperial Red. As always, contributions from every sale of Braveheart Brewing brands will support POW-MIA Families, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, the Seal Family Foundation and the 03XX Foundation.
While guests are savoring and sipping from the Seven Seas menu, they can also take in the sounds, with live music performed on three stages: award-winning musicians from the local music scene at the SoCal Flavors Stage; relaxing, smooth melodies on the French Flavors Stage; and sizzling performances by haka acts and fire dancers at the Polynesian Flavors Stage.
