Oceanside CA— On Wednesday, January 30, students from California Connections Academy at Capistrano, a local tuition-free online public school went on a field trip to the Oceanside Art Museum.
Regina Stehney, a hosting teacher with California Connections Academy said:
“The study of art is an important part of education in our students lives, both as a participant and as an observer of the world. In a gallery with students, we see them experience the wonder of and whimsy of art in-person. The docent provided the students insight into a broader view of the artists’ creativity, teaching them the tools to observe thoughtfully and imagine creatively, and allowing them to quietly explore and wander the Gallery of the artistic expressions of James Hubbell’s work. The students pondered and were quietly fascinated by sculptures, paintings, stained glass windows, photographs and poetry. The stained glass windows were dazzling and beautifully displayed, captivating the students with their beautiful light, colorful radiance and shapes on display. Oceanside Museum is a wonderful place to observe art. Their environment encourages each student to develop the skills associated with looking at, and talking about art.”
