San Diego CA— The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP), the oldest high school in San Diego and the only all girls’ school in the county, will host its 6th Architects of Change (AOC) Live speaking engagement featuring keynote speaker Mike Fasulo, President and COO of Sony Electronics on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at OLP’s campus in Normal Heights.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in intimate conversation with Sony’s President and COO while he shares his professional journey and thoughts on everything from diversity, equity, inclusion, and more. The event will also feature a moderated discussion and Q&A that is open to the audience.
Fasulo oversees Sony Electronics’ multi-billion-dollar business in Canada and the United States. With unwavering managerial courage and a proven track record of performing under pressure, he has a steadfast passion for delivering positive financial results, while building great teams.
Architects of Change Live is OLP’s conversation series with a mission. It celebrates and shares stories of inspiration from individuals who challenge what is, imagine what can be, and who move humanity forward. The goal is to inspire those listening to do the same in their own communities. The premise of the Live series is to bring together a conversation in an intimate setting because when people come together to listen and share, “minds open, hearts move, and change happens.”
“OLP students are remarkable in what they are able to accomplish. No event highlights the leadership, professionalism and responsibility of the AOC student club like the live conversation. Students manage all aspects of the production such as research, planning, communication, strategy and interview. At the heart of this club are student leaders working professionally, not only with their peers, but in the community as a whole,” said Dr. Lauren Lek, Head of School at Academy of Our Lady of Peace.
The school has been in partnership with Maria Shriver since November 2016, as the first school to bring her Architects of Change program to the scholastic level. Since that time, the school has hosted bi-yearly Live Conversations on campus, as well as monthly features in their digital forums of named Architects of Change “highlights” whose story and forward motion provides compelling inspiration to others.
“As an alumna, I know firsthand the real-world opportunities afforded OLP students. The Architects of Change club at OLP is just one of many examples where the girl embodies a holistic leadership role across the board,” said Emily Pippin ‘06, Director of Communications at OLP.
The special event is free and open to the public, although tickets are required. Please register for tickets by January 29, 2019 at: www.aolp.org
