Oceanside CA— Join the Oceanside Public Library in welcoming artists Eileen Sprague and Elizabeth Custer. Their work will be on display at the Civic Center Library from January 2 through January 31, with an opening reception on Saturday, January 5 at 4:00 p.m. The Civic Center Library is located 330 North Coast Highway.
Sculptor Eileen Sprague grew up in New York City and has been practicing art for 50 years. She is a graduate of New York University and continued postgraduate work at Hunter College. She has exhibited at the Long Beach, New York Museum of Art, Woodstock Artist Association, Del Mar Art Gallery and the Del Mar Fair. She is a member of the Oceanside Museum Art Alliance, North County Sculpture Salon, and Art Group of North County. Her contemporary sculptures are created in marble, alabaster, onyx, bronze and many other mediums.
Painter Elizabeth Custer is a local Encinitas artist whose love of nature and color is expressed in her watercolor and acrylic painting. Her work is known for its subtle use of color and channeling spiritual energy. She enjoys capturing the essence of people, animals and landscapes. She has exhibited in Santa Fe, Los Angeles and San Diego.
