Oceanside CA— Just before 2:15 this afternoon, November 6, 2018, Oceanside fire units were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1707 Alvarado Street in Oceanside.
Oceanside Engine 211 arrived on scene seven minutes after the initial dispatch and found a fully-involved garage fire. Crews extended hose lines and conducted a search of the residence. The fire was brought under control approximately 15 minutes after the first engine arrived. A dog was saved from the home and did not appear to be in any distress.
The fire had started to extend into the attic space above the home and heat holes were cut into the roof to release the smoke and heat. A smaller, rental unit in the back of the property was unaffected.
There were no injuries to any residents or firefighters.
The fire scene was cleared of all suppression units at 4:20pm and an Oceanside Fire Department Investigator remained on scene to conduct the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
Carlsbad Fire Department provided mutal aid.
