Oceanside CA— October is National Arts and Humanities Month and Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation is celebrating with two special events.
Our Art Walls O’side October exhibition Oct. 18, 7:30-9:00 at the O’side Bakery, 3815 Mission Ave. Suite 101. Art Walls O’side is a new and unique format pioneering a different kind of Gallery “Art Scene”. Each event features a solo showing of local, national and internationally recognized artists. Oct. 18 will feature paintings by nationally recognized artist, Dan Peragrine. He has forty years extensive experience as an Artist and Art Educator, Sculptor, and Painter. Plan to enjoy live music, no-host bar, and O’side Bakery fresh baked goodies. There will also be an Opportunity Drawing for an art piece with proceeds going toward local high school arts scholarships.
“Raising Our Voices…Community in the Arts”, a music event will be held Monday, October 22, 7:00-8:30 in the Civic Center Community Rooms, 330 North Coast Hiway, downtown Oceanside.
This evening of music set in a ‘Prairie Home Companion’ style will feature songs from Broadway, as well as folk, international, and patriotic. Showcasing local musicians and poets celebrating community, diversity, and civic commitment, the evening will include the award-winning Oceanside High School Show Choir as well as performing artists including Tiffany Vakilian, Ellie Anna Theofilopoulos, the a cappella quartet, Gin’N Tonix, Stephani Stevens, as well as other local favorites, and a special presentation by Oceanside Boy Scouts in period uniforms. Funds raised will go toward providing performing and visual arts scholarships for graduating seniors.
