Barons Market teams up with Abnormal Brewing for last Backroom Beer Pairing of the year
Proceeds from brew and food pairing benefit local breast cancer awareness organizations
San Diego CA— – In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Barons Market will join forces with Abnormal Brewing to raise funds for cancer organizations at its last Backroom Beer Pairing of the year. On October 24, community members can gather at any one of Barons’ seven Southern California grocery stores to enjoy curated bite and brew menus in its stockrooms-turned-speakeasies.
“Each year, thousands of women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Southern California,” says Rachel Shemirani, vice president of marketing for Barons. “For our last Backroom Beer Pairing of the year, we’re giving back to two incredible organizations making a difference in the lives of our neighbors struggling with the hardships of this disease.”
The Barons Backroom Beer Pairings donate 100 percent of proceeds from its seven locations to a local charity making a difference in its communities. In 2017, Barons raised more than $26,592 for local organizations through its quarterly pairings. For this pairing, the family-owned market selected two breast cancer awareness organizations, Breast Cancer Prevention Partners and Michelle’s Place as the beneficiaries.
Barons Market’s flavor experts and Abnormal’s savvy brewers came together to create an array of food and beer pairings for this event:
- Tiki Life for Me: An island cocktail wheat ale paired with a pomegranate salad
- Boss Pour: An American-style IPA paired with parmesan truffle fries
- Hazy Dreams: A hazy-style IPA paired with Barons’ chicken and dumpling soup
- Pink Lemonade: Fruit wheat ale paired with a Niman Ranch pulled pork slider
To gain access to this one-of-a-kind speakeasy, head to one of Barons Market’s seven Southern California locations from 6 to 8 p.m. on October 24. Tickets will sell out, so purchase yours for $15 today.
