San Diego County CA— The SANDAG Board of Directors has kicked off the recruitment for a SANDAG Independent Performance Auditor by developing a draft position description, which summarizes the responsibilities, experience, and attributes SANDAG will be looking for as we fill this important position.

About the Independent Performance Auditor Position
Reporting directly to the SANDAG Board of Directors and Audit Committee, the Independent Performance Auditor will oversee and conduct independent examinations of SANDAG programs, functions, operations, or management systems and procedures to assess whether the agency is achieving economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the employment of available resources; and provide sound professional recommendations for consideration in formulating policies and procedures, establishing internal controls, and improving operational and organizational performance.
Recruitment Timeline
SANDAG anticipates the Independent Performance Auditor position will be advertised in September, following the Audit Committee’s review of the position description and recruitment brochure. Short-list interviews are expected to take place in November, and the SANDAG Board of Directors could consider a finalist in December. Following negotiations and the approval of an employment contract, we expect the new Independent Performance Auditor will start in spring 2019.
