Oceanside CA— Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside’s (BGCO) Center for Innovation will be fully equipped with musical instruments thanks to a $3,649 grant from Betty Scalice Foundation.
The Center for Innovation, a 2,000-square-foot addition coming this fall, will include a Culinary Arts Teaching Kitchen, a Performing Arts Center and a STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Lab.
Funding from Betty Scalice Foundation will purchase a variety of instruments to equip the Performing Arts Center with violins, guitars, trombones, ukuleles, keyboards, clarinets, and more. This equipment allows BGCO to expand programming and open opportunities to youth who may not be able to afford the cost of renting or buying an instrument and pay for lessons.
“Many of our members have never held a musical instrument,” said Jodi Diamond, CEO. “Thank you Betty Scalice Foundation for giving our youth opportunity to discover a passion for music.”
