San Marcos CA— The San Diego North Economic Development Council (SDNEDC) will release two comprehensive economic reports providing the only overarching look at the impact of craft brewing on the region. The two studies, presented by Ed Ashley of Cal State San Marcos and Vince Vasquez of National University, will provide insights in to the current state of the industry and the future of craft brewing in San Diego’s North County. The reports will be unveiled at the Craft Brew Summit set for October 25, 2017 at the San Marcos Community Center.
More than 20 independent craft brewers will participate in this event that will include samplings of some of the latest and greatest creations from around the region.
“With more than 140 independent craft brewers in our region, this industry is a powerhouse,” said Mike Cully, chief executive officer of the SDNEDC, “the sheer number of jobs, dollars and ancillary industries formed because of this home-grown sector is impressive and significant, and the future looks bright,” said Cully.
The event will run from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Community Center at 1 Civic Center Drive. More than 20 local craft brewers will participate in the event, which will include a panel discussion by industry experts, who will share real life, “Tales from the Trenches,” moderated by the City of Vista’s Economic Development Director, Kevin Ham, to add even more context to the data released in the reports.
