Guided tours, talks and programs throughout the park
San Diego CA— Explore Mission Trails Day is an annual celebration at Mission Trails Regional Park on May 20, 2017. This year’s theme is Connecting with Nature with most activities occurring at the East Fortuna Staging Area at the west end of Mast Blvd. The free event is open to the public and connects people with nature through dozens of fun educational activities. There will be free guided nature walks and other activities such as live animal exhibits, crafts for kids, rock wall climbing and much more for the whole family. As in past years, children will enjoy pony rides and a mini mountain bike track provided by the San Diego Mountain Bike Association.
Most activities will take place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Equestrian Staging Area, however, three special events are at the Kumeyaay Lake Campground: a “Birds of Kumeyaay Lake Walk” beginning at 8 a.m., a special Twilight Walk is scheduled for 7 – 8:30 p.m. and a Star Party with a local astronomer will take place from 7:30 – 10 p.m.
Additional information and event schedule are available on the Mission Trails website at mtrp.org/emtday.
