San Diego County CA— They are there when you need help. They put their lives on the line for your safety. However, that protection comes at a price. In San Diego County, 86 deputies, officers and agents have been killed in the line of duty. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department invites you join law enforcement agencies across the county in remembering and honoring these fallen heroes.
San Diego County Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony
Wednesday, May 3rd at noon
County Administration Center – west side along the Embarcadero
1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego
The ceremony will include the presentation of colors, invocation, wreath laying, roll call, 21-gun salute, law enforcement helicopter flyover and a closing prayer.

May 15th is designated as National Peace Officers Memorial Day to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. There are more than 900,000 law enforcement officers now serving in the United States. In 2016, 144 were killed in the line of duty (Source: Officer Down Memorial Page).
