Carlsbad CA— On Saturday evening, March 18 at 6:07 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department was called to the Sherman Williams Paint store located, 7040 Avenida Encinas #100 in the City of Carlsbad regarding a robbery.
The caller, a 21 year old female employee, reported that a Hispanic or White male wearing a black sweatshirt and a ski mask knocked on the rear door of the business at closing time. When the employee answered the door, the subject struck the employee on the head with an unknown object. The subject then forced the victim into the store where he demanded the employee to give him the U.S. currency from the cash registers. The employee gave the U.S. currency to the suspect who fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The loss was approximately 600.00 dollars.
No weapons were seen by the victim and the victim sustained no visible injuries from the incident.
Officers searched the area with the assistance of the San Diego Police Department’s Air support Unit, but were unable to locate the suspect.
A search for the suspect and an investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
