San Diego Council-member David Alvarez to empower two-wheeled voices at community training
San Diego CA— The San Diego County Bike Coalition presents The Power of Advocacy – a one-day training to turn everyday locals into advocates for bike safety in their neighborhoods.
In four hours, the Bike Coalition and elected officials will teach community members the importance of civic involvement and how to influence decision makers to take action that will make San Diego a safer place for all people who enjoy life on two wheels.
As the only countywide organization advocating for and protecting the rights of all people on bikes, the Bike Coalition relies on the voices of residents from Oceanside to San Ysidro to demand safe and bikeable neighborhoods.
The Bike Coalition anticipates major bike infrastructure milestones in 2017, including groundbreaking along the Bayshore Bikeway and funding for the Downtown Mobility Plan, Pershing Bikeway and the Inland Rail Trail, among others.
The event takes place on Saturday, February 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mission Brewery, 1441 L St. in San Diego.
