Six children taken into protective custody
Oceanside CA— At approximately 5:00am this morning, January 12, 2017, the Oceanside Police Department’s Special Enforcement Section with the assistance of the SWAT Team and Gang Suppression Unit, executed a narcotics search warrant in the 3700 block of Forest Road.
The search warrant was prompted by numerous complaints, from neighbors in the surrounding homes, about illegal drug activity happening at and around the residence.
After the warrant was served and the home secured, OPD found twenty-seven people living in the three bedroom single story home, including eight children.
“A total of seven were arrested; four for various outstanding warrants, one for drug related charges and child endangerment plus two people for child endangerment.” said Lieutenant George Darrah with the Oceanside Police Department.
Six children were taken into protective custody by Child Protective Service. Two wheelchair bound children were transported by ambulance as a precaution.
One female was transported to a local hospital by Oceanside Paramedics after police had trouble waking her up during the warrant search.
We will have more details when they become available.
