Carlsbad CA— Start the New Year right by joining Walk + Bike Carlsbad for its first events of 2017. Walk + Bike is a partnership led by the City of Carlsbad, Circulate San Diego and the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition to promote walking and biking around Carlsbad.

Evening La Costa Glen Trail walk
Come prepared to enjoy nature, mingle with friends and neighbors, and get to know Carlsbad’s trail system. The group will meet at the Jimbo’s parking lot in the Carlsbad Forum on Calle Barcelona and take the La Costa Glen Trail, which is unpaved and mostly flat.
Saturday, Jan. 28, 8 a.m.
Calavera Hills Trail hike
The group will meet at the Calavera Trail parking lot on Peninsula Drive. Participants can choose between two levels of difficulty on this unpaved trail. The first group will hike about 2.5 miles on a moderately difficult trail with some inclines and loose gravel. The second group will hike about 2.25 miles on a difficult trail with a lot of incline and loose gravel.

Bike and Wellness Expo at Alga Norte Community Park
Several bicycle shops will be providing a variety of bikes to test ride, and cycling representatives from the Carlsbad community will share safety tips about biking. Learn about local bike routes, upcoming group bike rides and why biking is a great transportation option. Local businesses and organizations will provide interactive activities and information on how to improve your well-being in the New Year.
