Carlsbad CA— The vintage-style Paul Ecke Jr. Family Barn nestled in the iconic Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch will provide an inspirational setting for Hospice of the North Coast’s (HNC’s) Light Up A Life (LUAL) memorial on December 8, 2016 from 5:30-7:00 pm. Members of the public are invited to come together and celebrate the memories of departed loved ones at this charming venue brightly adorned with holiday lights and décor, music, spirituality and peace.
LUAL is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required at www.hospicenorthcoast.org or 760.431.4100. Parking at the Fields on 5704 Paseo Del Norte in Carlsbad is ample. The 200-seat venue is ADA accessible. The memorial will take place “stars or rain,” so event-goers should dress warmly and wear comfy shoes.
“LUAL can be healing in surprising and transformational ways,” believes Social Services Manager Jim Reiser. “The grieving process can bring positive benefits. We will strive to enhance this experience for each person, from toddlers to elders, with live music, home-baked cookies prepared by our staff and volunteers, an inspirational speaker and our culminating candle-lighting ceremony at which individuals, one by one, rise and light a candle in honor of their loved one. The panorama of soft candle lights is breathtaking. Light Up A Life enables people to enter their holiday season warmed to the heart by memories of their loved ones and uplifted by the bonds that connect us all.”
According to Executive Director Sharon Lutz, LUAL is one of HNC’s most popular “gifts” her organization gives the community. She notes, “We are delighted to debut the Barn as our new locale and we thank venue sponsor Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch and title sponsor Gumpert Foundation for making LUAL possible at no charge to attendees. We greatly appreciate donations in support of our multifaceted end-of-life programs. Contributions enable HNC to maintain dignity, comfort and highest quality of life for those we serve, regardless of their ability to pay.”
