Hockey Fun Day Tri-City Inline Hockey League (TCIHL), a non-profit organization established over 20 years ago for the development of Youth Inline Hockey in North County San Diego, announces Hockey Fun Day, a free event for kids between the ages of 5-17, Saturday, February 8th, 2014, at the Martin Luther King Jr Park’s roller hockey rink located at 4300 Mesa Drive in Oceanside
The Oceanside Public Library and the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library are proud to present Zimbeat as part of the 2014 World Music Series. This free concert will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Community Rooms located at 330 N. Coast Highway. Free parking is available in the Civic Center parking garage.
The Oceanside Public Library is hosting an extraordinary musical performance showcasing the music of Film Noir on February 8, 2014, as part of The Big Read in Oceanside. This free concert is inspired by the 2014 Big Read book selection, The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett. The Big Read is a national program designed to restore reading to the center of American culture.
The concert features singer Laura Ellis, this performance features an evening of the haunting and sultry music of film noir, evoking the times of black and white movies rife with con artists, gullible marks, and memorable music. Laura Ellis’ broadcast credits include History Channel’s Route 66 and Modern Marvels documentaries, Make Me Laugh, the HBO Carnivale series, a commercial appearance with Della Reese, and ABC’s Modern Family.
This special Big Read concert takes place at the Sunshine Brooks Theatre, located at 217 North Coast Highway in Oceanside. Performance time is 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited for this free performance and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Teatro Tierra Caliente – will debut “Abismo de Confusion” this Saturday, Feb. 8th at 7pm (doors open 6:30pm) at the San Marcos Community Theater. Abismo de Confusion: A comedy portraying cultural stereotypes and what if the roles where reversed? Family oriented play Directed by Cecilia Estevez, all in spanish, snacks available, ticket only $5.00 (general admission).
